Stephen Craft (son of David'). Born in Westchester Co., N. Y., 6 Sept., 1773. Married 8 Sept., 1800, Jemima Dean, daughter of Joseph and Anna
(Worden) Dean of Carmel, Put nam Co., N. Y. She was born in May, 1782, and died 28 Jan., 1856, M. 73. He died 11 May, 1850, m. 76, and was
buried in the burial-ground attached to the Baptist Church at Carmel, N. Y. His father died when he was about five years of age, and he went
to live with his grandfather on Long Island. He and his sister Jemima, were afterward brought up by their uncle and aunt, Thomas and Jemima
(Craft) Thorn in New York City. After his marriage he settled on a small farm about one and one-quarter miles south of the village of Carmel.
He had a cousin John Craft living near Newburgh, N. Y., who once came to visit him, but of whom we have no records.
